Central MB and Westman Advance 1 Team Each to C5PBA Inter-provincial Challenge

Team Central 2 and Team Westman 2 finished 1-2 out of an 8 team field at the 2018 M5PBA Manitoba 220 at Thunderbird Bowl in Brandon. Westman's Des Murray led all men with 280 POA, while CMBA's Sharon Zimmer was 153 POA to lead the ladies. 

​A heated battle meant that 5 teams continued to have a shot at advancing to this year's Interprovincial Challenge heading into the 7th and final match play round robin game. By each taking a possible 6 of 7 points, both Central 2 and Westman 2 held on to the top two spots, and clinched their advancement to Charlottetown PEI .

​Mens All-Star Awards for top individual play were awarded to Des Murray of Westman and Central Manitoba's Marty Moyer, Alan Tarn and John Fortier.

The Ladies All-Star team consisted of Sharon Zimmer from Central Manitoba, Shelby Sylvester of Westman, Central's June Bourguignon and Westman's Betty Lou Wilson.​

M5PBA Life Member Henry Timmer not only presented the Annual Henry Timmer Award for top POA single game, but he also competed as part of Team Westman 4.  Westman's Des Murray and Central's Alan Tarn each bowled a game 95 over their average, sharing the award for the first time.

Team Central 2 took 1st place, consisted of team members Alan Tarn, Marty Moyer, Debbie Tarn, Sharon Zimmer and rookie Coach James Boxshall.​​
​Team Westman 2 finished in 2nd, only 1 point back of Central 2. The team of Des Murray, Betty Lou Wilson, Roger Gosselin, Sharon Prost were led at provincials by veteran Coach Gary Everard, and will be coached in PEI by Bob Komosky.
3rd Place and the bronze medals went to team Westman 1. Mel Baker, Sarah Bradshaw, David Stasiuk, Brianne Fulmore and Coach Bob Komosky finished 6 points away from representing MB in PEI.​​​​

M5PBA 2 Legit to Split Fundraiser - Postponed

The M5PBA has tentatively moved the 2020 Open Provincial Championships in Minnedosa from Easter Weekend to May Long Weekend.

As so much remains unknown at this time, more information about this event, as well as C5PBA National Championship plans, will be communicated in the upcoming weeks.

Regarding the Spring Cash Draw, should the Open be cancelled altogether, we plan to make the draws at our AGM. Regardless, we encourage no sales of tickets after the Easter weekend date.
